Lovely painting. Lovely thought. I notice the date on the painting is 1987. Sometimes we see it first and can only name it later.

Dear Ninja Nun Nancy;

I fancy your paintings, muse who creates, destroyer of spirit ties no longer needed in this life.

The firey ones, the leap into water of new life after burning out, not fading away, seems to be the theme that you were channeling with watercolor verve up above this comment, hon.

They say we can manifest anything that we can imagine, that the Creator Being in us all can make us into anything at all - a rock, a tree, a phoenix bird, and sometimes milady methinks that the extra energy of a James Dean or Elvis Presley burns totally bright until that archetypal manifestation of a young person with lots of talent dying young and still having more potential in them, also Marilyn Monroe and John Kennedy, those might have been the souls you saw rushing down with aplomb, like they were doused in soul napalm, burning out the Akashic could have beens in a pretty sight that Nancy the Ninja intuited and pressed into paper with colors from her head.

Love and Respect from New Mexico,

Joe

Well, dear Nancy, if this one incident of civility, so skillfully written by you, is a representative example of what happens in Brooklyn then it should stay in Brooklyn. I encounter this kind of "Angelic" behavior many times a day where I live. And when encountering a stranger, especially one of differing ethnicity, I find that a simple smile forms a bridge that we can cross without the formality or efficacy of language nor assuming the baggage of saintly Beatitude.

Not every community is a harbor for the kind of rude behavior that, when reversed, is quickly acclaimed as that of "angels."

As Edith Ann was wont to say, "And that's the truth."
